No Girls Allowed!

I have built my first fort! It's not real of course, but virtual. If you scroll and blink, you might miss it. You would really only notice it if you are super alert - and I am not saying you aren't. But just in case you did miss it, I will tell you.

You can find it on the left hand side of the page after the Previous Posts section. There you will find my charter members:

Owen - Owen is actually like a cousin or brother because my mommy and his mommy (Alix) have known each other for a bazillion gazillion years. They live far away in a place called Connecticut. I get to meet Owen in October when they come out here to visit.

Jacob - Jacob is the son of my mommy's friend Angela. Jacob was born on the exact same day as Owen. Isn't that cool? Jacob just started daycare and goes to the same place I go! Our mommies are going to coordinate a joint pick up sometime soon so we can meet.

Jason - At 3 weeks old, Jason's the baby of the group (hee hee! Get my joke?). My mommy works with his daddy John (who works in the same department as Angela - see how confusing it is?) Jason is still getting used to all this stuff out in the real world and he's faring quite well. It looks like he might join my school later this year when he's a bit bigger.

Well, feel free to check out my fellow tough guy buddies. Remember, no girls in our fort! I hear they have cooties...

Christmas in July!

This weekend I made out like a bandit! That's right. I went on a shopping excursion with Mommy, Grandma Kathy and Aunt Claudia to IKEA. It was soooooooo cool. I hope that when I get big enough for a big boy bed, that I get one from there!

Well, anyway, let me tell you what I got:
  • A dragon placemat
  • A froggy bowl, bib and spoon set
  • A big boy chair

And now, drumroll please...

  • A rocking moose! It's like a rocking horse, but instead it's a moose!

Of course I have pictures. Take a looksie at my big boy chair and rocking moose down below. I am still getting used to both - but I can tell you right now that they are both BIG hits in my world.

If you don't have one of these rockers, you really ought to consider getting one! Although, come to think of it, I didn't see one in big people size. Oh well, another advantage to being a little tyke like me.

Toodle-dee-doo!

My Calendar is Filling Up Again

I am one popular little guy - with all these health care professionals! Since my calendar is filling up again, I figured it was prime time for an update...

Thicker Isn't Always Better...As you know, I am testing out the thickener and that is going okay. But at 3 oz. thickened, it really started to be a mess and I started sounding a bit rattly. I really don't want to try to eat up to 7 oz. thickened, because that's a lot and it's kind of boring. Plus, it might make me all congested and that's no fun.

NG Tube To Go Bye-Bye...Mommy and daddy and I met with my GI doc., Dr. S. last week and it's official - we have a consult for a tummy tube with a specialty surgeon, Dr. N., on Tuesday Jul 26. Hopefully the procedure can happen soon. Once I have that in, we are going to work on incorporating more table food and using the tube for hydration and nutritional supplementation. (Isn't it amazing that I can type all of these big words and yet can't really say anything yet except for babbling? Mommy did here me say no several times today. She didn't seem too happy that I was saying it over and over again. I am not sure why, though).

Let There Be No Specialty Docs Left Behind...I have a follow up on Monday Aug 1 with my ENT doc., the other Dr. S, to check on my ear tubes and make sure I am not suffering from a sinus infection. I am on antibiotics until then. I am also going to have a pulmonary follow up on Aug 17, with Dr. G.

Everyone Wants to Get All Up in My Biznizz...The biggest news is that my pediatrician and GI doc spoke this week and have decided that it's time for an MRI. Since there is nothing structurally wrong with me, I guess we are at the point where everyone wants to rule out any neurological issues. I have to go under for the MRI and I really hope they don't find anything. I know everyone wants an answer for why I can't swallow right, but let's keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't have anything to do with my brain. Again, they just want to rule anything out. I am okay on everything else, so the chance is pretty slim that there's a problem. But we'll know for sure in a little over a week.

I continue to be super happy and curious. I laugh a LOT and run all over the place. It's pretty good to be me, if I do say so myself.

Well, I promise to provide frequent updates over the next couple of weeks. Please keep me in your thoughts.

Hugs,
Emerson

Mommy's Little Helper

Today I did my first chore ever...I mopped the floor! It doesn't matter that the SwifferTM mop didn't have one of the wet sheets on it or that I wasn't really cleaning it; it's the attempt I made to help out around the house.

Check me out, being super helpful, down below.

Oh! And my thickener came yesterday and I started with it today. So far I have had two ounces per feeding thickened and I am liking it!

Adios!

Do a little dance / mop a little floor / get down tonight!

Don't you even think of stepping on my freshly mopped floor...
