Good to the Last Drop
For the first time in blogging history, I am posting a picture of my real, first-ever drink from a sippy cup. It's an event that most kids do way before they are 2.5 years old, but consider me a late bloomer. AND it should be noted that what I am drinking has been thickened with a special gel so it's about the consistency of yogurt - maybe a little thinner. But nonetheless, I am drinking and it is because the results of today's Modified Barium Swallow Study at Children's Hospital concluded that I could try this as a next step.
We are going to try this in the evenings and see if I stay healthy (no congestion or breathing issues, sickness, etc.) It's a bit of good news in the whole scheme of things. The downer is that we are still treating symptoms, not solving the problem and no one seems to know when we will do that part. My next Swallow Study will be in 6 - 9 months or after my 3rd birthday. So, as I guess some people say, bottoms up!
